Who We Are
WedShare.com was started in the summer of 2004, committed to the goal of providing
the best wedding website service available in the world. The vision of a complete package, encompassing
an intuitive website-builder, planning tools, hosting, and domain name
registration was one meticulously thought out and lovingly implemented
under the direction and guidance of technology and design professionals
who were also recent newlyweds. This unique perspective gave us the valuable
insight into the special needs of our clients that has made WedShare.com
the succesful online wedding service we have grown to become.
You can find us at wedding tradeshows and conventions throughout California
every month; check your local tradeshows' sponsor listings and visit us
if we're in your area! We enjoy working closely with the couples who are
our clients to see what is working well and what needs they have that
still require attention. As we do, our service is continually improving.
Features, tools, and designs are always being added. We never stop working
to provide the absolute best for our clients.
The Founders
WedShare.com was conceived and developed by Crystal and Jason Melendez, motivated by
the adventure of their own wedding planning. Both are technology professionals
with years of application development and web design experience that they
put to use during their 18-month long engagement. Taking advantage of
online RSVP's, a web-accessible planning calendar, informational pages
and online maps for their guests, they found that their best friend throughout
the intensive process of wedding planning was their interactive website,
and immediately saw the incredible help it could be for any couple embarking
on their own wedding planning. It just needed to be packaged into a service that
would make it possible for anyone–whether they were tech savvy or not–to
set up their own wedding website in minutes. They felt existing services
were too inadequate, clumsy, and out of touch with the needs and desires
of today's engaged couples. WedShare.com is the product of their own experiences,
those of the countless couples they worked with, and extensive research.
Crystal and Jason work from their San Jose, California office and continually
find ways to improve and build upon the service. They regularly attend
bridal faires and wedding events in order to work with couples, obtain feedback,
and keep in touch with current trends and issues in the wedding industry.
Their book, e-Plan Your Wedding:
How to Save Time and Money with Today's Best Online Resources is a comprehensive guide to
planning a wedding in today's world, from engagement ring to honeymoon bliss. It combines
today's most powerful online tools and resources, the best conventional checklists,
worksheets and expert advice. The first edition has been available online and in bookstores since Spring 2007, and the second edition is currently in the works.
