Idea Browsing with Disney’s Online Wedding Design Studio

disneylogoFrom figuring the overall theme to fine-tuning the smallest of details, planning your wedding is an exercise in idea-gathering and seeing what works together and what doesn’t amidst an abundance of choices. Wedding blogs, magazines, and bridal shows are all great resources to help spark ideas and visualize various wedding elements. I received a tip from someone the other day on another online resource that may be worth checking out: the “Fairytale Wedding” Design Studio from Disney.

Primarily meant for couples who are thinking about a wedding at one of the Disney theme parks, this tool can be a great way to visualize different themes and design elements for any wedding. There’s definitely a fairytale edge to some of the elements (the “castle” wedding cake designs say it all), but don’t overlook it as a potential muse while brainstorming for ideas. Your wedding doesn’t have to be a prince and princess affair for this to be helpful.

The main categories to play with are Ceremony, Reception, Floral, and Cakes. Within the categories, then, are additional design elements that can be explored further. Clicking on Ceremony, for example, will give you some ceremony setups to check out, and there are little icons on the main photo that you can click–such as aisle decor and seating–to view more options.

Check it out and see if it helps spark your own muse while you idea-gather for your big day details.

In closing…what about those Disney fairytale weddings? Well, if you both love the Magic Kingdom, then by all means go for it, but I will say this: I looked into it out of curiosity a while back and those Disneyland wedding packages ain’t cheap. Let’s just say I’m not surprised that Disney posted an 18% profit increase this quarter from last year, even in this economy. Have a great weekend, everyone!
