A Mexican Folklore Wedding

Happy Friday Everyone! Today I want to share with you a very special photo shoot taken by the talented Carla from Carla Ten Eyck Photography. This stylized Mexican wedding theme was shot for the Cinco de Mayo holiday and I have to say that Carla and the rest of the team who made this photo session possible did a fantastic job in capturing the colorful folklore of a beautiful Mexican wedding. The photo shoot took place at a family run farm in West Suffield, CT, and I’m in love with that amazing pink barn backdrop! I like their use of all the iconic symbols and folk art such as Loteria cards {Mexican bingo cards}, paper mache masks, papel picado and Mexican pastries and drinks. I also like how they incorporated ideas from the Dia de los Muertos altars by using sugar skulls, candles, skeleton figurines and family portraits. One of my favorite things is the bride’s stunning hairpiece, custom made for this shoot by the fabulous Myra from Twigs and Honey, I really, really want this hairpiece! All these details are perfect for a colorful and folkloric Mexican wedding theme any day of the year!

Check out more photos of this amazing stylized photo shoot at the beautiful Carla Ten Eyck Photography Blog and the list of professionals who made this photo shoot possible at the end of this post.
